There is often a preference to paint our houses white. Perhaps this preference comes from the fact that in many parts of our country (especially in the Cycladic islands) they "whitewash" with pure lime not only the houses, but also the paddocks and even the trunks of the trees. The stark white houses contradict the Greek tradition, which wants every building to be "colored" with intense and lively colors (red, yellow ocher, indigo, etc.), without of course putting white aside.
